Setting Up Mail Rules
Netscape 6.X Mail
- Start Netscape Mail
- From the menubar, select File, then "New" and click on "Folder."
- In the "New Folder" box, name the folder spam or junkmail or some similar name.
- Click on the button that is labeled "Create the folder as a subfolder of", select
the name of your email account, and select "choose this for the parent"..
- The folder should now appear in the list of "Mail Folders"
- From the menubar, select Edit, then select "Message Filters".
- When the Message Filters dialog box appears, click "New"
- When the Filter Rules dialog appears, In the Filter Name box, name the filter spam or junkmail.
- In "Conditions section, click the button labeled "match ALL of the following conditions".
- The middle box should read "and the "Subject" "Contains". If not, select "Subject" and "Contains"
from their respective lists and type:
(SPAM)
in the text box to the right of "Contains".
- In the "Action" section, select "Move to folder", then click on the box to the right, place your mouse over your email account, and a list of mail folders should appear (InBox, Trash, etc.).
- Click on the folder you just created in steps 1-5 above.
- Click "OK"
- You're now back to the main Message Filters dialog. The new filter you just created should be listed, and marked enabled.
- Click OK to close the Message Filters dialog.
- Your mail rule setup is complete.
